Waiting for Snowpocalypse 2016!!

Hello Tripawds Family!!

Buddy is just 9 days short of his 3 month Ampuversary and doing FANTASTIC!!   Buddy has just gotten better and better and stronger and stronger each day since stopping chemo.   As you may know, we tried carboplatin but on his last CXR he has 2 small lung nodules.  We just pray that they grow VERY slowly.

I elected not to try Palladia or Metronomics.  Buddy has such a sensitive stomach and I just wasn’t willing to accept the possible side effects.  The good news is that Buddy is once again the dog he always was before all of this Osteosarcoma nonsense!!!    I’ll take quality over quantity anytime and I’m 100% sure I made the right decisions along the way: amputation and chemo.

Now, on to the fun stuff.  DC is forecasted for 1-2 feet of snow.  I’m off work until Monday and my house is stocked with food and wine.  My dear friend is coming over to hunker down with us and she’s bringing Buddy’s best friends.  I can’t really think of a better way to spend 3 days.  Friends, dogs, food and wine!!!

Below, Buddy is surveying the light snow we got last night.  He was hilarious this morning.  So excited that there was snow but a little annoyed that I didn’t want to play in it a 6am before work.  LOL.  He got a nice long afternoon walk when I got home.

Thanks again to each of you who have reached out to us throughout this journey.  I cannot express in words how much this community has meant to us.  Love you guys~

Dear sweet Buddy Darling crossed the Rainbow Bridge 6 months post diagnosis of OSA. We had an amazing 10 years together and that will have to be enough until we meet again!

  1. Hey, I’m local to DC to so I get the Snowpocalypse reference! I love how the snow slows down life around here. I’m hunkered down now for the duration. We even got a new delivery of dog food this week so I don’t care how much it snows!

I think snow was one of our Ellie’s favorite things—she would have laid outside in it if we had let her. Our new dog Toby is a quadpaw w/ a broken toe right now (bandaged)—keeping it dry will be “fun”. The IV bag they gave us as a waterproof sock is very slippery, as we discovered this morning.

    1. LOL! Yes, we are def “in” for the weekend!!! Buddy loves to play in the snow. I’m so glad I get to enjoy it with him. Hope Toby gets well soon!!

  2. Oops, meant to say “laid outside all day” for Ellie. The way I wrote it sounds like we forbid her from laying in the snow!

  3. That sounds like the best ever way to get through the snowpocolypse! A slumber party with furfaces. Have fun and be safe!

  4. He looks great and you sound ready for the SNOW! We are in LA so no snow here … ever. But a house stocked with wine, I got that all times! Happy Snow Days Buddy! You look so handsome in the snow.

    Hugs,

  5. Awww Buddy! Love the picture of you being “one with the snow!”

You are absolutely gonna love the next couple of days! You have a BFF coming over to play with in the snow, what fun that will be!!

I’m your next door neighbor here in Virginia! The area I’m in is expecting about 18 inches. I’m planning on not working Friday and Saturday, and not sure if I’ll be able to make it in Sunday! But you guys are goi g to get about 2 ft…brrrrr!

It just thrills me to hear how well Buddy is doing! And yes, you are in a good place! You’ve mastered the art of living in the now and savoring the gift of the moment! That state of being just makes each moment with Buddy that much sweeter.

Can’t wait to see pics of Buddy and friends romping in the snow!!

Thanks for the wonderful update! Looking forward to pictures of you eating steak and ice cream for your upcoming THREE MONTH AMPUVERSARY!!

    LOVE!
