Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Hoppy Howlidays!

My sweet niece just knows how much my heart misses my sweet Tripawd Angel Buddy

She insisted on creating me an anatomically correct “Buddy” for Christmas this year.

I forgot about the magic of Christmas until today.  I asked Buddy for a sign and he pretty much delivered through this very special gal Victoria.

Victoria wanted to create a stuffed dog just like Buddy.  Her mom was not sure it was a good idea but Victoria insisted.  They employed the help of Buddy’s Aunt Jeanette.   Wow.  Just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!  Victoria did this all on her own.  She did surgery and fixed Buddy up just right. Good as new.  In the process she restored my love of Christmas.  Something that I lost.

Magic restored!!

Wishing a Hoppy New Year To All!!

Dearest Tripawds Community,

I would be remiss if I didn’t add one final entry on Buddy’s Blog this year.  I have not posted in a long time but I still feel very connected to the Tripawd community.  I couldn’t let 2016 end without paying tribute to my boy and thanking each of you for your support during our journey.

Buddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge back in April.  I still miss him every day.  I still talk to him.  I still feel his presence in my life.

I was blessed to be ‘mom’ to his magnificent creature for 10 years and for that I am eternally grateful.   He sends me signs every now and again (who cares if I’m crazy) and that gives me great comfort……I just found one of his whiskers the other day in my bathroom in California (I moved from Virginia months ago and well after Buddy passed).  NOW THAT’S A SIGN!  I smiled, laughed and saved that beautiful whisker!!!

I’m not quite ready to give my heart to another.  When the time comes I know Buddy will guide me.

I want to wish each and every one of you in the New Year!

xoxo

Remembering My Sweet Buddy Boy!

So thankful to the Mia Foundation Supporter Janet Lynne Jones for honoring my Sweet Buddy Boy in such a meaningful way.  Thank you Sally for helping me to connect with Janet.  I feel Buddy’s presence in my life every day!

“It is said that a cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually show up when you most need them or miss them. They also make an appearance during times of celebration as well as despair to let you know they will always be with you. Look for them, they’ll appear.”

I never knew this until someone told me a bout 2 months ago (and the cardinal appeared at a new retirement community that I was touring with my dad.  The director said it was a visitor from heaven.  It was then that I knew my mom approved – she said they never see cardinals).  Fast forward to about a week ago on a long run.  I was sad and wondering if I’d made the right decisions for Buddy.  I was crying during my run and I said to Buddy – “if you could just give me a sign, it would help – I’ll be patient.”  Literally 30 seconds later I noticed a cardinal sitting on a log.  As I approached it flew right across my running path – at that moment I knew that Buddy was communicating with me.  My friend, who was on the same trail but walking so we were not together.  She had seen a cardinal (in the same spot i mentioned – but before I arrived back) and walked up to it.  She was surprised that it didn’t fly away.  She said to it “Hey there Buddy, how are you doing?”  Yes.  She said that and it happened.  Maybe I’m crazy but that was my boy sending me a sign.

Thank you again to all my Tripawd friends.  You all have helped me heal.  I will never NOT miss Buddy of course but my tears are less sad these days and a little more happy.

xoxo

Buddy’s Chariot Will Ride On!

My heart is overflowing.  I had hoped to get Buddy’s cart to another Tripawd but the shipping cost was anywhere between $200-$400 — can you believe that?  Sorry Christine!!!

Sally hooked me up with “Live Love Hop” and low and behold I found a local taker.  Janet Lynn Jones who is a staunch volunteer for the Mia Foundation has a BiPawd.  A BIPAWD!!  Can you believe that!  Miguel was a rescue from the Dominican Republic.  He was to be euthanized but the Mia Foundation supported getting him here and Janet became a foster fail (one of many….she has like 6 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goats!).

Needless to say, I dropped off the chariot yesterday and I can’t think of a better way to honor Buddy.  The cart will be used to her her pups to fundraisers and various community events.  I had the pleasure of meeting Janet, Miguel, Itty-Bitty and Paco yesterday.  My heart hasn’t been this happy in a long time and I know that in some way my sweet Buddy’s memory will live on.

Once again, Thank you TriPawd Nation, you mean the world to me!  I’m a furever member!!

Below pics of the Chariot before and now!!
